Career :
June 2004 - present - General Manager - Operations with Al Rakyan General Trading Est. B 309, Baniyas Complex, Diera, Dubai, and look after and assist in the operations of 9 divisions while indepnedently running 4 divisions as seperate business entetites. I am responsible for corporate cost containment, overall growth and profitability of the operations.
- Alrakyan General Tradings Est.exports various food and non food items into Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan and Africa. Their imports are from India which include house hold utensitls, coconuts, mangoes and fruits and vegetables.The company has busniness associatons with two prime vendors of the US Army in Iraq as well as in Afghanistan, and cater to their needs for various products as and when the requirement arises. the firm has also supplied furits vegetables, frozen fish adn meat products to facility managers for thier maintanence staff in various camps in Iraq.Supply various prodcuts according to the requiremnts of thier business associates in Qatar and Tanzania.
- Abdulla and Al Khatal General Trading - Whole Sale Divison. this is situated at Block No 4 Central Fruit and Vegetable market, Awir Dubai.Led the team that set up this operation - whole sale of Rices, Pulses, flour, sugar, canned products, soft drinks, detergents, plastic products, and cleaning materials. The proceedures included, infrastructure develplkemtns, recuruting training of employess, insituting systems in place, purchases, pricing and sales policies. The operation currenntly logs sales of AED 300,000.00 per day.
- Led the team which set up A.A.K Distribution, a distribution arm for various food products which include Pickles, Rice, assorted Chips, incense sticks and canned prodcuts. The operation currently operates in all the emirates of U.A.E. and has over 900 outlets in the distribution channel.
- Part of the team which conceived Ethnik Chain stores. dedicated entirely to the sale of ethnik indian artifical jewelry. Currently the no of stores are 14 in varies Emirates of the UAE, with one international operation in Kuwait. Stores adn being planned in Muscat and Bahrain during the current year.
- Alrakyan Fitness Divison. - the divison imports Treadmills, Exercise Bikes and Trainers as well as Free Weights adn caters to the requiremnets of clients both locally and internationally.
- Al Rakyan Cleanign Products Divison. - the divison imports cleaning adn janitorial products under our own brand name EURO KLEAN, and targets large cleanign companies as well as hotel groups as their clientile.
- Al Rakyan - House Hold Utensils Division. The divison imports stainless steel house hold utensils under our registered brand TOPLINE from India. the focuss is on Super and Hypermarkets as well as large purchasers like labour camps and markets in Africa.
- Al Rakyan Fresh adn Frozne Fish Products Divison. This divison imports Fresh Fish From India as well as source fish locally and cater to the requiremnts of major hyper and supermarkets in Dubai, UAE.
Here I must say my parting was the group was not pleasant at all, especailly since the company was owned privately by my family. Clash of interests and egoes was not contributing to the smooth running of the group and i did leave in disgust.

Married since 1995 to Simi Agnes Markose, who is a post graduate in Child psychology. She is currently the business developement manager UAE, for Innovative Facility Management a joint ventrue between Y.K Almoyyaed group Bahrain and Manipal Group, Bangalore Karnataka.
